SBI PO 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on 01-09-2021)

Candidates applying for the SBI PO exam should between 21 years and 30 years.

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years

Upper Age Limit Relaxation

Below are the details of the Age relaxation allowed for various categories of applicants:

Education Qualifications (As on 31-12-2021)

The candidate should be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Candidates who are in their final semester/year are also eligible to apply but will have to present the proof of passing their graduation or having the graduation degree as pass as per the deadline stipulated by the bank.

Candidates who have pursued an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure about the date of passing should be as per the date bounded by the organizing authority.

Candidates with the degree of Chartered Accountant are also eligible to apply.

Number of  Attempts

There is a restriction on the number of times a candidate can sit for the SBI PO exam. The category-wise number of attempts that a candidate is allowed is in the below table below. Aspirants who have already appeared for the maximum number of allowed attempts are not eligible to apply.

Note: Appearing in Preliminary examination will not be considered as an attempt. However, appearing in the Main Examination will be counted as an attempt.

The SBI PO exam selection procedure consists of the following steps:

  • Preliminary Examination (Objective Test) – Qualifying Exam
  • Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive tests) – 250 Marks
  • Group Exercise (20 marks)
  • Interview (30 marks)

  • There is no sectional cut-off for the SBI PO Main exam.
  • Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Group Exercise & Interview
  • Marks obtained in Objective, as well as Descriptive tests, will be added in the final Merit list along with marks of Group exercise and Interview

Mains Exam Pattern – Descriptive Test

The Descriptive paper is a test of English language. The candidate will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay.

The descriptive paper carries 50 marks and is of 30 minutes duration.

NOTE: The Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

Final Selection

Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Exam (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks, and marks secured in the Group Exercise & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list is compiled after aggregating (out of 100) the converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview.

SBI PO Salary

The Final in-hand salary of a newly recruited SBI Probationary Officer is 45,000 (approx) per month. However, this amount will vary based on your posting location. If you are posted in a metro city, then your payment will be a bit more.

Dearness Allowance This is revised every quarter and is calculated based on CPI (Consumer Price Index). Currently, DA is 46.9% of the basic pay.

Leased House Accommodation You may take a house on lease, the amount of which varies with posting between a minimum of. Rs. 8000/- (in rural areas) and a maximum of Rs. 29500/- (in Mumbai).
Furniture Allowance Rs. 120000/- for the purchase of furniture
Medical Insurance 100% medical coverage for SBI employees and 75% for their family members
Travelling Allowance For official travels, reimbursement of AC 2-tier fare is provided
Petrol 50 Lts (For 2 wheelers) Or 55 Lts (For 4 Wheeler) Or Approx. Rs. 1100-1250 if you don’t have 2/4 wheelers (conveyance allowance).

  • Enter your details such as Name, Email ID & Contact Number.

  • You will get a Registration Number and Password on the screen.
  • Upload your scanned signature and photograph.
  • Enter your details as per official certificates such as 10th class certificate etc.
