The State Bank of India (SBI) has released a notification for the recruitment of Junior Associates (Clerks) Customer Support and Sales. There are 8000+ vacancies. Those who qualify the SBI Clerk Exam, get a job in SBI branches across the country as clerks. SBI Clerks (Junior Associates) are responsible for all client interactions and related operations. Candidates who are recruited as SBI Junior Associates (Clerks) are designated as cashiers, depositors, and other such posts a particular SBI Bank branch.

SBI Junior Associate (Clerk) 2020 – Salary Details

What does the above mean? Your Starting Salary will be Rs 11,765 with an annual increment of Rs 655. After 3 years, your salary will be Rs 13730 with an annual increment of Rs 815. After 3 years, your salary will increase to Rs 16174 with an annual increment of Rs 980. After 4 years, your salary will increase to Rs 20095 with an annual increment of Rs 1145. After 7 years, your salary will increase to Rs 28110 with an annual increment of Rs 2120. After 1 year it will be Rs 30230, and after another year it will be Rs 31450. This is the maximum salary you will reach as an SBI Clerk. |

The age of the applicants should not be below 20 years and not above 28 years as on 01.01.2020 i.e.. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1992 and no later than 01.01.2000 (both days inclusive).

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020– Period of Probation
The newly appointed Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates will be on probation for a minimum period of 6 months.
15 prescribed e-lessons will be required to be completed by newly recruited Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates during the probation, for getting confirmed in the Bank, failing which their probation will be extended till completion of the same. 15 prescribed e-lessons (for confirmation) will include role-based e-lessons. Further, before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose performance fails to meet the Bank’s expectation may be extended.
All newly joining candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of their joining.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020: Selection Procedure
The SBI Clerk 2020 Exam has 4 Phases
- Online test (Preliminary examination)
- Online test (Main examination)
- Test of official and/or local language and subject to Government of India approval,
- Interview (though not approved as of now).
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows –

There will be NEGATIVE MARKS for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual test OR for the aggregate score. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.
Phase II: Main Examination
The structure of the main examination (online objective type) would be as follows –

Phase III: Test of knowledge of the local language
Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In the case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of the interview (if the interview is held) /before final selection (if the interview is not held).
Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.
