India has the second-largest road network in the world. As of March 2021, India has 151,019 KM of National Highways. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is the nodal agency responsible for building, upgrading and maintaining the national highways in India. NHAI operates under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
