RRB NTPC 2022 Selection Process
There are mainly five stages in the RRB NTPC selection process. The selection procedure for RRB NTPC 2022 exam is discussed below in detail:
Computer Based Test I (CBT-I)
The first stage of CBT is used for screening the candidates. In order to shortlist the applicants for the second stage CBT, the first stage marks will be normalized.
Computer Based Test II (CBT-II)
The candidates who clear the first stage of CBT will have to appear for the second stage of CBT. Candidates who pass the second stage CBT then have to appear for the skill exam for the positions they have applied for.
CBAT/Typing Test Skill Test
The candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master will have to appear for RRB NTPC CBAT. They need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks to qualify.
The candidates who have applied for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper will have to appear for this test.
The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.
Document Verification
Candidates who clear the CBT-I and CBT-II and the Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test (where applicable) are called for Document Verification based on their merit. Selected individuals will be appointed if they pass the required Medical Fitness Test.
Medical Examination
The candidates must fulfil the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. The applicants should refer to the medical standards for each post carefully as the candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) will not be given any alternative appointment.
RRB NTPC 2022 Exam Pattern
The RRB NTPC 2022 written test is conducted in 2 stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)-1

RRB NTPC – CBT-1
- The authorities conduct the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for screening the aspirants.
- The duration of the exam is 1.5 hours (90 minutes). For the PWD candidates, the duration of the exam is 120 Minutes.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every wrong attempt question.
- No marks are deducted if a question is left unanswered.
