Indian Bank PO recruitment takes place to recruit Probationary Officers for its different branches across the country. Indian Bank PO Exam consists of Prelims, Mains, and Personal Interview phases. All selected candidates will have to undergo a One year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) course at the Indian Bank Manipal School of Banking (IBMSB). Indian Bank PO Salary Details

Indian Bank Probationary Officer can expect a good salary. The salary structure is as follows:

  • Dearness Allowance (DA): INR 10,163.63,
  • Special Allowance: INR 1,863,
  • City Compensatory Allowance (CCA): 3-4 %,
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): 8.5 %, 7.5 %, or 6.5 % based on the location of posting.

Indian Bank PO 2021 selection process consists of 3 stages:

 Indian Bank PO Exam Pattern

Prelims Exam Pattern:

Indian Bank PO preliminary examination is an Objective Examination with 100 Questions and 1 hour time.

Indian Bank PO Prelims exam is not a qualifying round as its marks will be counted in the Final Merit List. You need to score sufficiently high in Prelims and Mains along with qualifying for the Interview.

 Mains Exam Pattern

The Indian Bank PO Main Exam consists of 2 parts:

  2. Descriptive Test

Online Objective Test

The Main Online Examination will be of objective type. It will consist of a total of 200 questions & you have to complete it in 2 hours. There is a Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Descriptive Test

The Descriptive Test will take place on the day of the Mains Examination. As the Objective paper of Mains exam gets over the screen of the computer will automatically direct you to the descriptive test. There is no time gap between the end of the Objective test and the start of the descriptive test.

Personal Interview

Candidates who clear the Main examination will be called for a Personal Interview, which is for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark in the Interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

The Final Selection as Probationary Officer with the Indian Bank is based on the scores obtained by the candidate in all the 3 stages – Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
