SSC GD Constable Exam Overview

SSC conducts an open examination for the post of Constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF, and Rifleman in Assam riffles.

The SSC GD Constable recruitment process consists of the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST)
  4. Medical Examination

SSC GD Constable Pay Scale is Rs 21,700 – Rs 61,100 

The Total Number of Vacancies notified in the 2018 notification are 54,953.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

For Male Candidates For Female Candidates
Race 5km in 24 minutes 1.6km in 8 1/2 minutes

PET for candidates of Ladakh Region

For Male Candidates For Female Candidates
Race 1 mile in 6 1/2 minutes 800 meters in 4 minutes

 

SSC GD Constable Physical Standard Test (PST)

Height and Chest expansion are tested in PST.

Candidates should have the standard measurements prescribed by SSC in order to qualify this round.

 

SSC GD Constable Syllabus

General Intelligence & Reasoning:

Analytical Aptitude and teh ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on anologies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding-decoding etc.

General Knowledge and General Awareness:

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. Questions will be such that they do not require a special study in any discipline.

Elementary Mathematics:

Number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & work etc.

English/Hindi:

Candidate’s ability to understand Basic English/Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.

SSC GD Constable Educational Qualifications

Candidate should have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) Exam from any Recognized Board in India

SSC GD Constable  Age Limit

•Minimum Age Limit – 18 years

•Maximum Age Limit – 23 years

SSC GD Constable Upper Age Limit Relaxation:
