RBI Security Guard Job Profile

 

The job profile or roles and responsibilities of an RBI Security Guard are as follows:

  • Guarding Bank’s property (official/Residential), other watch and ward duties round the clock.
  • Operating X-Ray machines/DFMD for checking baggage at the entrance and other allied duties that may be assigned by the Bank.
  • The Security Guards will have to work in shifts, including night shifts.

The above list is only indicative, not exhaustive. The Bank reserves the right to assign any other work in case of requirement.

The basic pay of an RBI Security Guard is Rs 10,940/- per month.

The Payscale of an RBI Security Guard is 10940 – 380 (4) -12460 – 440 (3) – 13780 – 520 (3) – 15340 – 690 (2) -16720 – 860 (4) – 20160 – 1180 (3) – 23700 (20 years).

The Gross pay of an RBI Security Guard is Rs 24,000 (approx) per month.

RBI Security Guard Exam Pattern – Physical Test

Candidates who are going to appear for the physical test need to produce a medical certificate on the same day.

The RBI Security Guard Physical test is only qualifying in nature.

RBI Security Guard Eligibility Criteria

 

There are 3 eligibility criteria that a candidate should satisfy in order to be eligible for the RBI Security Guard Exam. They are:

  1. Age Limit
  2. Education Qualifications
  3. Experience

Age Limit for RBI Security Guard

  • Minimum Age for RBI Security Guard – 25 years
  • Maximum Age for RBI Security Guard – 45 years 
Upper Age Relaxation for RBI Office Attendant
  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC/ExM – 3 years

 

The upper age limit of 45 years is uniformly applicable to candidates belonging to all categories inclusive of reserved candidates.

Note: Age can be further relaxed to the extent of the number of years of service in the Armed Forces.

If you have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group ‘C’& ‘D’, only then, you will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group ‘C’ / ‘D’ under Central Government. This relaxation will not be applicable on the second occasion.

Educational Qualifications

The candidate should have passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./ Matriculation) from a government recognized board/body/institute.

If you are a matriculate Ex-servicemen with 15 years of experience are considered as “Graduates” they are eligible to apply.

Experience

You should have experience of handling arms and ammunition in the military.

If you are an Ex-servicemen who has passed the qualifying examination from outside the recruitment zone either before or after leaving the military service, you are eligible.

You should be a resident of the State/UT coming under the Regional Jurisdiction of the Recruitment Office to which you are applying.

OH/HI/VH/disabled ex-servicemen/declared medically unfit, who cannot undertake the duties of a guard, are not eligible to apply.

Defining Ex-Servicemen

You are Eligible to Apply if;

  • you have served in any rank (whether as a combatant or as a non-combatant) in the regular Army.
  • ‘Army’ does not include Defence Security Corps, the General Reserve Engineering Force, the Lok Sahayak Sena and the Para Military Forces.
  • If you will be released / retired from Armed Forces, or whose specific period of engagement (SPE) is likely to be completed on or before December 31, 2020
  • You are a Territorial Army Personnel with effect from 15.11.1986.

You are Not Eligible to Apply if;

  • you have retired from such service with a pension due to any cause (Medical, Voluntary, etc.) and have been given gratuity
  • you are a person with disability attributable to military service, or gallantry award winners.
  • you are an ex-serviceman who has joined a civil government job using the benefits given as an ex-serviceman.
