    RBI Grade B 2021 Eligibility Criteria

    There are 2 criteria that a candidate should fulfill in order to be eligible for RBI Grade B Officer Exam. They are 1) Age Limit 2) Education Qualifications.

    Age Limit

    • The minimum age is 21 years
    • The maximum age is 30 years.
    • If a candidate possesses M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees, the upper age limits in these cases are 32 and 34 years respectively.

    Educational Qualification

    Category Educational Qualification
    Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General) Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

    Should have scored at least 60% marks in the 12th & 10th examinations.

    Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR Master’s degree in economics with a minimum of 55% marks.
    Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM Master degree in statistics/mathematical statistics/mathematical economics/econometrics/statistics & informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ applied statistics & informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks.

    Prelims exam consists of 200 Questions (4 sections) for 200 marks. The total duration is 2 hours.

    Grade B Mains Exam Pattern 2021

    Mains exam consists of 3 papers (2 Objective Tests + 1 Descriptive Test)

    Interview

    Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III of the Main exam. The interview carries 50 marks.

    • A new tab asking for your registration will open. Click on the link for New Registration.
    • Fill out the form correctly with your details.
    • Click on “Save” and upload your scanned photograph & signature image.
    • Cross-check all your details and click on the submit button.
    • You will be directed to payment. Pay the application fee as per your category.
    • Take an e-print of the receipt and application for future use.

    RBI Grade B Salary 2021

    The total in-hand salary of a Reserve Bank of India Grade B Officer is Rs 60,000 (approx). The PayScale for the Grade B Officer is Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400. This means that you will be having basic pay of Rs. 35,150/– in which you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- up to nine years of your service. After the completion of nine years, you will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will be Rs. 50,900/- and then again for the next two years you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- and further an increment of rs. 2000/- for the following 2 years thus ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 62,400/- and this is when you don’t get any promotion.

    Other Allowances

    Grade B Officers are eligible for different allowances and perks such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc.

    RBI Grade B Officer Job Profile

    Candidates selected as RBI Grade B Officer will undergo training for 15 weeks. There will be a probation period of 2 years, and it can be extended to 4 years based on your performance. On completion of 15-week training, candidates will be allotted to different departments such as Banking Supervision, Banking Regulation, Currency Issuing, Financial Markets, Public Debt Office, Foreign Exchange, HRD, etc. The work profiles vary from department to department. However, you will be transferred from one department to another after some time.
