NABARD Development Assistant Eligibility Criteria
There are 2 eligibility criteria one needs to fulfill in order to be eligible for NABARD Development Assistant Exam. They are 1) Age Limit 2) Educational Qualifications
Age Limit (as by 01.09.2019)
- Minimum Age- 18 Years
- Maximum Age- 35 Years
Candidates born not earlier than 02-09-1984 and no later than 01-09-2001 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
Age limit Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years (up to 40 years)
- OBC – 3 years (up to 38 years)
- PWBD – 10 years (GEN), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen – Extent of Service + 3 years (max 50 years age)
- Widow/Divorced, Woman Judicially separated and not re-married – 10 years
- Candidates Ordinarily domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1st Jan 1980 and 31st Dec 1989 – 5 years
Educational Qualifications
For Development Assistant – Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
For Development Assistant (Hindi) – Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject with a minimum of 50% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates) in the aggregate,
OR
Bachelor’s Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects with a minimum of 50% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/pwBD/EXS candidates) in the aggregate.
Note: Candidate must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa.

NABARD Development Assistant Selection Procedure
NABARD selection procedure consists of the following stages:
- Prelims (objective MCQs test for 100 marks)
- Mains (objective MCQs + Descriptive test — Total 200 marks)
- Language Proficiency Test
Prelims Exam is only Qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in prelims are not counted for final selection.
There is a NEGATIVE marking of 0.25 marks (in both Prelims and Mains) as a penalty for every wrong answer.

Language Proficiency Test :
Those who qualify for selection and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet / certificate indicating official language as one of the subjects will not be subjected to Language Proficiency Test. In case of others (qualified for selection), the language proficiency test will be conducted after the declaration of result of Main examination at the Regional Office of concerned State. The language proficiency test will be conducted in the official language of the State concerned. Candidates not found to be proficient in official language would be disqualified, i.e. candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered appointment.
