IBPS conducts a common Specialist Officer (SO) Exam to fill SO vacancies in various banks that participate in this exam. Once you qualify the IBPS SO exam, you will be hired as a Specialist Officer in one of the participating banks as per your preference, merit and IBPS SO cut off. In the IBPS SO 2020 Exam, 17 banks are participating. These include Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India.

IBPS SO Selection Process

The IBPS SO selection takes place in 3 stages – 1) Prelims, 2)  Mains 3) Interview.

The Preliminary exam is just a qualifying exam and the marks that you score in the Prelims are not counted towards final merit list preparation.

Candidates who clear Prelims exam are eligible to appear for Mains exam. Candidates who clear Mains exam are called for an Interview.

Final selection as an IBPS SO depends upon your score in the Mains Exam & Interview.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the combined score obtained in Mains exam and Interview. The weightage of the Online test and interview will is 80:20.
