GIC conducts this recruitment exam from time to time the vacancies for ‘Assistant Managers (i.e. Generalist & Specialist) Scale I’ posts. GIC Assistant Manager is one of the most sought after Insurance jobs in the Indian Insurance sector.
GIC Assistant Manager Salary
Candidates selected as GIC Assistant Manager are eligible for a Basic pay of 32,795/-per month in the pay scale of Rs.32795 -1610(14) – 55335 -1745(4) – 62315 and other admissible allowances like DA, HRA, CCA, etc.
The total emoluments will be about Rs.59000/-p.m. plus other benefits which are the New Pension Scheme and Newspaper /Internet Allowance Leave Travel Subsidy, Medical Benefits, House Furnishing Allowance, Household Help Allowance, Personal Accident cover, housing and vehicle loans with subsidized interests, and interest-free advances for festivals, natural calamities, and any other benefits as per rules and on confirmation of service in the Corporation.
The officers are also entitled to Corporation’s/leased accommodation as per norms. (Presently Corporation owned accommodations are not available, whereas lease accommodation will be permitted as per norms). The present lease accommodation limits at Mumbai is Rs.30,000/- per month.
GIC Assistant Manager Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure
GIC Assistant Manager selection procedure consists of the following stages:

- Group Discussion and Interview
The Total marks for the Written test, Group Discussion, and Interview will be 200.

Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and interview on the basis of overall marks scored in the online examination.
Minimum qualifying marks in the online test – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.
Minimum qualifying marks for the overall selection process (online test, GD and Interview) – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.
Stage 2 – GIC Assistant Manager GD & Interview
Based on your performance in the written examination, you will be called for a GD & Interview.
The minimum qualifying marks for Group Discussion & Interview is 60% marks (in the total marks, and also in each of Part A, Part B, and Part C).
